Bijou is one of Jacques' clockwork automatons, crafted not for sheer efficiency like Umbral but seemingly from a place of sentimentality. Sweet and motherly, with a touch of sass, she remains utterly loyal to Jacques and serves as a key source of his comfort. While her personality was shaped by Jacques, Bijou retains a sense of agency, allowing her to act with genuine care. She understands the reasons behind Jacques' flaws and mistakes, believing that by serving him, she is doing good.

Unlike the other servants, Bijou rarely gets on Jacques' nerves, likely due to her gentle demeanor and role as his maid, tending to his daily needs with punctuality. Yet her deeper purpose is that of an informal counselor, as Jacques often confides in her during his most private moments. Despite this, Bijou remains discreet and never betrays his trust.​

Bijou treats Jacques with such care that some might say she loves him like a mother loves her child. She senses a great deal of pain within Jacques beneath everything he presents on the surface. Though she may not be able to solve or undo many of his troubles, she is deeply committed to doing her best to comfort him or lessen his pain, staying by his side until he finds the relief he is looking for.

Though Bijou strives to treat all guests on the estate with respect and kindness, Oliver is the one she shows the most enthusiasm toward. As far as her memory can recall, Oliver is the first true friend Jacques has had in a long time, if ever. While subtle, the other servants have noticed a distinct warmth in the way she speaks to and serves Oliver, a gesture they recognize as her highest form of praise.
