Bio

Peter is an accomplished, highly decorated soldier, quickly marching his way up through the ranks in an attempt to become part of the nobility. His war record is impressive and has earned him great praise and commendations from his motherland of Russia. His reputation has made him something of a celebrity among other military men, using him as a gold standard for what they should aspire to. Peter is hoping that after his latest decisive victory will earn him his promotion required to finally be recognized as a nobleman after his years of service.

While celebrating around town, a small victory parade was put on for Peter and his unit, wherein he met a curious man named Jacques, who seems to be the only person in town unaware of his heroic and legendary exploits, let alone his imminent nobleman status. Thinking him something of an idiot, Peter spared to expense to let Jacque know his opinion of him. Little did he know that this would be the worst mistake of his life.

Trivia

  • Peter is the very model definition of a "perfect soldier" with all the charm and charisma one could expect out of someone of his status, but is secretly insecure over the fact that he has yet to be promoted to a noble
  • Peter is exceptionally handsome, making him very popular with the ladies, a fact he exploits to its fullest potential. It is rumored he has bed a woman in every country he has visited at least once. This flirty lifestyle is common among Hussars, given the dangerous nature of their role in battle.
  • While Peter and his commanding officer share a mutual respect for one another on the surface, Peter actually resents him and is eager to earn his nobility to finally retire and tend to his meager merchant family.
  • Due to conveniently having a bass voice, he often sings opera to his comrades in times of leisure, and plays accordion
  • Peter is slightly superstitious and also shows his religious nature during any moment of stress
  • Peter rolls with the punches. His doesn't understand the meaning of consequences and would rather react quickly to a situation since he is a fairly simple man. He takes things at face value and that got him very far in life,  but it doesn't work on everyone.
  • Peter's name mildly references only the name of the composer of "The Nutcracker Ballet", and nothing further. His personality is quite unlike the hero in E.T.A Hoffmann's (and Alexandre Dumas') , "The Nutcracker".

Relations

Jacques Lebeau
Captor

Picture
During a celebration of his latest victory, Peter encountered the first person to have never heard of him. This offense was met with a swift and sharp tongue, humbling Jacques and embarrassing him in front of the townspeople who joined in on the laughter and spectacle. Jacques has since decided to show Peter how utterly insignificant he really is. He's gonna ruin this man's whole career.

Oliver Holliday
Captor's Associate

Picture
While Oliver has not been directly involved in Peter's torment, Oliver has been deemed guilty by association for studying under Jacques. Oliver feels nothing personal between Peter, though his opinion of Peter is equally stained due to Peter's general reception to his new conditions...

Servants
Caretakers

Picture
The servants of Jacques are spared the wrath of Peter, as they are his sole caretakers. They provide him food, and listen to his woes. Peter understands that they do not act of their own volition and are forced to obey Jacques' every beck and call, and thus does not hold them responsible for the acts they must sometimes commit. They are the single speck of respite Peter has anymore.

Picture

Alexander Smirnov
Comrade

Picture
Peter considers Alexander a close friend, however in spite of this, Alexander has been known to make Peter unsettled from time to time. Considering that Peter has weathered the horrors of war, there's still an eerie feeling about Alexander that Peter cannot seem to shake. Despite this, the two of them are often found drinking together, laughing, and telling stories of old glories, as well as eying up the local women as potential prospects. This is easy enough with their status as war heroes securing them a place as minor celebrities, but combined, the two of them can hardly be stopped.
