Bio
Oliver is a young man traveling from England to the French countryside, seeking tutelage from the mysterious and wealthy Jacques Lebeau. His legal guardian began to suffer from a mysterious illness, driving Oliver to seek out medicine and biology in France to find a cure and help prevent such tragedies in the future. Unfortunately, Oliver's studies and medicine available to his guardian were not enough to save his life, and he perished mid-way through Oliver's studies. He returned home briefly to pay his respects, only to discover the caretaker he left in charge of his guardian misused the funds left behind, and had his remains disposed of as cheaply as possible.
This first dent in his faith in humanity would not be the last. Driven by the failings of modern medicine, Oliver sought to advance the field by thinking outside of the box, and pursuing alternative medicines and theories which held promising results. Many of his theories and proposals have been rejected outright by his peers despite Oliver's insistence that their best could not produce results either, and that all avenues of success should be explored. This ridicule from his academic peers left him an unappreciated genius of his time, operating in private without a license with quiet success. However this changed one day, as Jacques, by chance, asked one of his servants about what they saw on their travels to England, as he himself lives life as a recluse. They reported that an interesting man was frequently spotted sitting alone in a park surrounded by stacks of books and papers. Like clockwork, Oliver was seen on the same bench, every single day, at the exact same time. The servant in question struck up a conversation with Oliver, learning that he was seeking occult alternatives to medicine as he ran out of "legitimate" studies to follow. Interested in Oliver and his exploits, Jacques sent for him to be retrieved, where he might help Oliver find the answers he seeks.
